Terms of use
The plain-language agreement for using UCP Sandbox: test stores for AI shopping agents, and a console for running experiments on your own copies of them.
Last updated: 2 October 2026
1. Agreeing to these terms
By using UCP Sandbox (the website, the test stores on its subdomains, their UCP, MCP and WebMCP endpoints, and the console; together, the "Service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. They apply whether or not you have an account, and to any agent or program you point at the Service.
2. What the Service is
UCP Sandbox runs reference stores that behave like real shops and are not: no goods exist, nothing ships, and no stay is real. Signed in, you can copy a store, change one thing on your copy and see what agents did on each version, read from the stores' own records.
Nothing on the Service is for sale. Checkouts take test payment instruments only. An order, booking, refund or receipt made here has no monetary or legal effect.
3. No real payment or personal data
- Do not enter real card numbers, bank details or any other real payment credential. Use the test instruments each store lists.
- Use made-up buyer details in test checkouts. Do not send real people's personal data to a test store.
- What you put in a test checkout is stored so the store can answer, and reference stores are cleared regularly.
4. Accounts
- The reference stores and the docs need no account. The console does: you sign in with GitHub, an emailed link, or another sign-in method where offered.
- Your email address is your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Account page; that removes your store copies and experiments.
- An account can hold up to 10 stores and run 5 experiments at once. A store that nothing uses or changes for 90 days is archived and stops answering until you restore it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attack, overload or disrupt the Service, or use it to attack anything else; agents must respect rate limits and
Retry-After; - get around sign-in, rate limits or the separation between one account's stores and another's;
- present a test store, or anything made on one, as a real shop, a real order or a real payment;
- upload content you have no right to use, or that is unlawful;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
We may limit, suspend or remove access we reasonably believe breaks these rules.
6. Your stores and what they record
A copy of a store that you make is private to your account, is not indexed, and is reachable by anyone who has its address. Each copy keeps a log of the requests it answers (which agent, through which door, which call, and what the store answered) so you can read your experiment's results. Our privacy notice says what is kept.
You may publish results of experiments you ran on your own copies. Say that they come from test stores.
7. Independence
UCP Sandbox is independent. Its stores implement published commerce protocols; it is not operated on behalf of, or endorsed by, the maintainers of those protocols or any commerce platform.
8. Ownership
The Service's software, design, store content and images are ours. Results and data from your own experiments are yours to use.
9. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. It is a testing tool: stores may change, be reset, be interrupted or be withdrawn without notice, and a result here does not guarantee how any agent or any real store will behave.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill, arising from use of the Service. The Service is free, and our total liability for any claim about it will not exceed £100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Ending
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we discontinue the Service.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. Please contact us first so we can try to sort a problem out directly.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. When we change them materially we change the date above and, where appropriate, tell account holders. Using the Service after a change means you accept it.
14. Contact
Use the contact form or write to [email protected]. See also the privacy notice.
